We use only the finest ingredients and the maximum amount of scent without making your candle unstable. To ensure your safety it necessary for you to these instructions. Please follow these guidelines to keep you candle burning cleanly and for hours
Before you light your candle please remove all packaging, then place on a protected , heat resistand dry surface. Ensure there is nothing that can catch fire nearbvy and keep out of reach from chidren, pets and away from drafts. Handle with care as glass containers are fragile. If you crack your candle do not light as this could extend once lit. Ensure that your candle is on an even surface to ensure that the flame does not touch the side of the container. The continer may become hot once lit so take care when handling.
When lighting your candle for the first time allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container. This ensures that your soy candle does not “tunnel” as it burns, leaving wax along the sides of the container. A good rule of thumb is to burn your candle 1hr for every inch wide that the candle is. So if you have a 3inch wide soy candle, you may need to burn it for at least 3 hours for a good melt pool. This can normally be achieved in 3-5 hours
Soy wax does not burn as hot as paraffin wax so soy wax require a thicker wick. These wicks do not burn 100% and need to be trimmed regularly. Always trim your wick before you light your candle to remove any mushrooming and leave the wick about 6-8 mm. If you have purchased a candle with a wooden wick there is no need to trim This will ensure you get the most out of your candle as it will burn longer. Be sure not to over
trim your wick to ensure that you can re-light it. Keep your soy candles away from drafts to prevent smoking and soot. Soy candles produce little to no soot when burned properly, but any candle will smoke and create soot if exposed to too much air, which is what happens if there is a draft.
Failure to trim your wick regularly you can end with a mushroom of carbon on the end of your wick. By trimming this you will prevent soot from collecting on the inside of your container. If this does happen extinguish your candle and wait for it to solidify and cool. Then clean the sides with a wipe, trim your wick and re-light.
Do not allow your candle to burn all the way to the bottom. Leave 1cm as this will prevent damage to any surface you may have our candle on. If your bottle has a punt, this is the indentation on champagne and wine bottle the wax will only burn down to the top of the punt . The wax below this is unscented and waste. Please dispose of carefully.
